Everything you need to know about Data Discourse AI
What is Data Discourse AI (DDAI), and how does it work?
DDAI replicates the enterprise data stack as a managed service, giving growing companies a trusted, AI-ready data foundation without having to build or manage one themselves. Built for teams without a data team, DDAI delivers enterprise-grade capabilities at a fraction of the cost, so leaders can get consistent, trusted answers about their business.
What types of businesses benefit most from DDAI?
DDAI is built for midsize businesses that rely on cloud-based systems like HubSpot, QuickBooks, Stripe, and other supported platforms to run their business. It’s especially valuable for companies that need consistent, trusted visibility across sales, marketing, finance, and operations but don’t want to build and maintain their own data infrastructure or hire a dedicated data team.
How is DDAI different from a data warehouse, BI platform, or AI analytics tool?
DDAI delivers the data warehouse, automated pipelines, and Common Data Model as a fully managed service, eliminating the need to build and maintain your own data stack. Your unified, trusted data can then be accessed by BI tools for reporting and analytics, by AI agents and applications through DDAI’s MCP server, or directly through DDAI Chat.
What data sources does DDAI support?
DDAI currently supports HubSpot, QuickBooks Online, and Stripe, bringing data from these systems together into a unified operational data layer. Additional business systems are being added over time, allowing customers to expand their data foundation as their needs grow.
What is the DDAI Common Data Model, and why does it matter?
The DDAI Common Data Model standardizes data from different business systems into a consistent structure, connecting information across customers, companies, revenue, pipeline, marketing, finance, and operations. This creates a shared foundation so reporting, analytics, and AI applications work from the same trusted view of your business.
What is the semantic layer, and how does DDAI ensure consistent answers and metrics?
DDAI’s semantic layer defines how your business measures key metrics such as ARR, churn, CAC, pipeline, and revenue. By applying consistent business definitions across your data, DDAI helps ensure that reports, BI tools, and AI applications use the same logic and produce consistent, trusted answers.
How can I access and use my data with DDAI?
DDAI gives you multiple ways to use your unified data. Connect BI tools like Power BI, Tableau, and Excel via ODBC, give AI agents and applications secure access through MCP, or explore your data using DDAI’s conversational analytics interface. Your team can use the tools they prefer while working from the same trusted data foundation.
What can I do with DDAI Chat?
DDAI Chat is available directly within the DDAI interface (Insight and Mastery plans), giving you an easy way to ask questions about your business in plain language and get answers from your unified data. You can explore metrics across sales, marketing, and finance without writing SQL or building reports, making trusted business insights accessible to anyone on your team.
How does implementation and onboarding work?
Connect your supported business systems, and DDAI handles data integration, transformation, and setup of your Common Data Model and standard semantic model. Explore and Core offer automated onboarding, Insight adds guided onboarding and tailored semantic modeling, and Mastery includes managed onboarding, custom modeling, and ongoing Data Team support. Enterprise implementation is scoped to your needs. Once connected, access your data through BI tools, AI agents, or DDAI Chat on Insight and Mastery.
Do I need a data team or technical expertise to use DDAI?
Not at all. DDAI is designed for everyday business users—CEOs, sales leaders, finance managers, and operations teams. If you can ask a question in plain English, DDAI can answer it with context-rich insights and visualizations.
What Professional Services does DDAI offer, and do I need them?
Most companies can get started without Professional Services. For organizations with more complex needs, DDAI offers services including data readiness assessments, custom semantic models and business metrics, additional data integrations, and ongoing data platform optimization. These services allow DDAI to evolve with your business as your data needs become more sophisticated. For more info, check out our service offerings.
How secure is my data?
DDAI is built on Fivetran, dbt, and Microsoft Azure. The safeguards described in our Privacy Policy include encryption of data in transit and at rest, per-tenant database isolation with least-privilege credentials, read-only enforcement and query validation for all AI and MCP access paths, audit logging of data access, role-based access control, and monitoring with a documented incident response process. Under our End User License Agreement, you retain ownership of your data. For security questions, contact security@datadiscourse.ai.
How often is my data updated?
DDAI uses automated data pipelines to keep your connected business systems synchronized without manual exports, uploads, or spreadsheet updates. How often your data refreshes depends on your plan: Explore is a one-time sync, Core syncs daily, Insight syncs every four hours, and Mastery syncs hourly. See pricing for details.
Are there limits on users or connected data sources?
DDAI includes unlimited users, so your whole team can access the platform without per-user fees. All standard plans support HubSpot, QuickBooks Online, and Stripe. As additional integrations become available, Insight includes two additional data sources and Mastery includes four. Enterprise integrations are customized to your needs. Additional sources are subject to availability, and custom integrations may be separately scoped.
How much does DDAI cost, and what’s included?
Explore is free for 90 days with a one-time data snapshot. Core is $149 per month with daily synchronization and automated onboarding. Insight is $999 per month with updates every four hours, guided onboarding, a tailored semantic model, 750 monthly DDAI Chat queries, and quarterly metric reviews.
